We're finally here and really tired! The day started out with getting to San Francisco Airport. Then we got on a short plane ride, only a 13 hour ride :). It was daylight all the time. We flew over Alaska, Siberia, Korea, and Japan. When we went over Alaska, we looked for Sarah Palin's house, we didn't see it. After that we took a Maglev Train, one that is suspended on magnetic levitation. It got up to 301 Kilometers per hour. It took us 8 minutes to go 30 miles. Now we are in the Marriott Hotel in Shanghai. It is really nice and we have the "exclusive suite" where some parts are better than our house. The city is all lit up, and the buildings have different colors, moving patterns, and designs on them. I expected this, so I was ready, but everyone is talking to me in Chinese. My answer? Wo mei ting dong. The problem is the tones and how to pronounce them right. My speaking must be bad, because they just look at me, laugh, and go to English if they can. Tomorrow we are going to walk around on a self-guided tour around the city.Lianne
